Shein… or She OUT!?
Are you skeptical about Shein? If you are, I know how you feel! I was very shy to shop with Shein at first. I have been scammed by cheap shops that advertise on IG and never deliver my items. I was worried Shein was going to be one of those shops. I mean the prices just seemed too good to be true! BUT, a couple years ago I was admiring a friends dress and my mouth dropped open when she said it was from Shein! She told me she was also leery to shop at first, but was pleasantly surprised by her order!
So I decided to give Shein a try and I placed an order. I am happy to say I’ve been shopping with them for 2+ years and every transaction has been very smooth.
(Btw, click any of the photos below for a link to the dresses I’m wearing!)
Ok so Shein is a legit shop, but how’s the quality?
Well, sometimes She-good sometimes… she-not!
I have found their clothing to be quite inconsistent, but I still shop with them and I have 2 good reasons why you should too.
1. You get what you pay for, and sometimes you’re pleasantly surprised! So yeah, sometimes you’re gonna get the super cheap, see-through dress, but sometimes you score a high quality dress that you’ll find the next day at a high end boutique for 7x more! Shopping at Shein is a little bit like thrifting. Everything is a cheap price, but the quality of the items vary. It’s only by a lot of digging will you find the gems. I try to do most of the digging for y’all in finding the good stuff. The dress right below this paragraph is SUCH A GEM! It’s $31. Looks just like a Spell and The Gypsy or Christy Dawn dupe. If you’re really into boho maxi dresses with a Free People boho chic vibe, at a fraction of the price, type in “Rusttydustty” into the search bar of Shein. I have found Rustty Dustty to be one of the better quality brands they carry. Boho dresses at affordable prices, you’ll be hooked!
2. They have an exceptional return policy! Your first return from any order is free. Let me make this clear, you can return as many items as you want at NO charge, as long as its with the free return label they send you. Once you use the free return label, if you later decide there are more things you want to return, you’ll have to pay for it. I was confused at first because their website says, first return on us, I assumed that meant your first return you ever make with them, but it means your first return in regards to ANY order you ever place. You could order again next week, and because it is a new order, it also is eligible for a free initial return.
USE THIS AWESOME RETURN POLICY TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!
I always shop Shein in bulk! I will do a major haul and buy anything and everything that looks interesting to me. Because the quality is so hit or miss, you really just won’t know how good it is until you buy it and see it in person. So I usually buy 20 dresses (which has free standard shipping over $49) And then once my order arrives I skim through what looks cheap and what is worth trying on. In an order of 20 items, I probably will keep 5 items. The rest are either low quality, ill fitting, etc. They send you a free return label for that initial return and it’s honestly suuuuch an easy process.
Shein always has discounts so don’t forget to check the banner on the homepage. Never checkout without a discount code. C’mon, that’s a rookie move! Remember, you can always score at least 10-20% off your order.
Hope this article gives you confidence to shop with Shein.
+ I hope you like my top recommendations for their website!
*I am not sponsored by SHEIN. I keep my blogs as transparent as their low quality dresses, so obviously they don’t pay me. However, I do share commissionable links, so if you feel so inclined to shop their site by my “influence” muahahaha, I would totally appreciate if you clicked from my commissionable link so that I can buy bread to make a sandwich!! Thanks!
My recent Shein haul
Example of: YOU CAN’T WIN ‘EM ALL!!! A see-thru, low quality, ugly print that didn’t look like the photo on the website with really cheap shiny ugo buttons. EASY PEASY RETURN!
